How long have your worked at AMEC?
Ten weeks (but it feels like it has been months because things have been moving in fast motion in the vibrant region).
Qualifications: Msc in Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, BSc in Engineering, University of Houston, Texas
Have you had any training since joining AMEC?
Every working day has been a training day. Having lived and having been based in Europe for over 25 years, it was quite an experience to resettle in Asia and in a Korean joint venture company.
Hence, it has been a continued training for me by navigating my way through many challenging situations and coming out the other side.
How did you come to work in your current role at AMEC?
I read on the news that AMEC intended to form a joint venture with state-run utilities Korea Electric and Korea Gas as well as the state-run policy bank Korea Development Bank. I recognized that it is an unprecedented opportunity for AMEC.
I also recognized that my cross-disciplinary background (from engineer to sales and business development executive, to financial advisor, to Head of Energy Project of an investment company) could make a meaningful contribution to AMEC. Hence, I sent my CV to AMEC.
What do you remember most about your first day?
I was introduced to all of my colleagues on the first day. They joined AMEC JV either a few weeks earlier than I did or on the same day as I did (except three administrative employees who came from AMEC Korea).
What motivates you?
I am excited by the many realistic, rewarding business prospects that the AMEC JV can potentially capture. And AMEC Vision 2015 is the afterburner for my motivation. Growth, geographic footprint enhancement and “One AMEC” are exactly what I believe in.
How (or for what) would you like to be remembered by colleagues?
One of the contributors who transform AMEC into the choice company for employees, for investors and for customers on a truly global stage.
