AMEC completed reconstruction services for the Garden Avenue and Highway 403 interchange
|Client:||Ministry of Transportation and The City of Brantford|
|Scope:||Field survey, stormwater management, design and consultation|
|Date:||2005 - 2007|
The Garden Avenue and highway 403 interchange project was a joint undertaking between the City of Brantford and the Ministry of Transportation. The project involved the reconstruction of Garden Avenue, from Henry Street in the south, north to Lynden Road, as well as rehabilitation and widening of the existing Highway 403 ramps. The project included installation of double left-turn lanes at Sinclair Avenue, with traffic signal upgrades, three new signalized intersections, construction of a new commuter parking lot facility, as well as full illumination.
Encroachment into a branch of the Fairchild Creek required significant mitigation measures and some minor creek realignment. Final construction of the project was completed in 2007 and, from all accounts, is functioning well.
