It is focused on growth, which we believe can be achieved through the skills of our people and the way in which they deliver successful projects for our customers; the strength of the customer relationships this engenders, the markets and geographies in which we are positioned, and the strength of our balance sheet.

We want our customers to recognise our engineering, project management and consultancy expertise and to trust us to deliver their projects successfully. Only by understanding their business, their objectives and their values can we identify how best we can use our expertise to help them deliver.

The right portfolio of sectors and services
We have considerable experience and capability in the world’s energy sectors and are well placed to respond to the increasing demand for clean energy and to improve the efficiency of mature assets. AMEC is carefully and deliberately positioned across sectors so as to benefit whatever the relative weighting in the energy mix. It is predicted that response to the challenges of climate change and energy security will shape the future of energy in the long term. The world’s population is estimated to increase and the demand for energy and commodities will rise with this. To ensure long term success we need to ensure that our portfolio of services and sectors responds to these trends.

The right geographical spread
To achieve our vision, we need to build on our existing market positions, but also enhance capabilities and expand our geographical coverage. Expanding our geographical spread brings with it numerous challenges, and should only be considered where we can ensure that we can work in accordance with our values and our code of business conduct.
