What do you enjoy most about working for AMEC?
First, working for AMEC means that from the earlier stage I have been given the opportunity to get involved in projects at highest level, which allowed me to build up my self-confidence and learn new skills.
Secondly, I do really enjoy my work place, my colleagues and my team members and especially my managers who always encourage and support me at work.
What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on / or, what personal work achievement are you most proud of?
Since my starting date with AMEC I have been involved in many projects onshore and offshore. However, the most interesting one to me so far is BP Shah Denis Alpha offshore platform and Chirag offshore platform Projects in Baku Azerbaijan. In both projects I was responsible to go out and get equipment quotation from suppliers such as Sub Sea Cable, Transformer and Switchboard and then develop a final project cost estimate. I hope that my next project in Switzerland will be even more interesting.
How would you describe the training you’ve received? How has it benefited you? In what other ways have you learned and developed as a professional?
AMEC provide a very good training program for the new graduate compared to other companies, and this is why I made up my mind and decided to join the company. Working in different projects has enabled me to develop my technical and communication skills, as well as working beside experienced electrical engineers has helped me to gain more knowledge within electrical engineering field.
What would you say is the single most important factor in building a successful career at AMEC?
I would say have a very good development programme plan for yourself with objectives to be achieved for the next four or five years, and then start to work hard. On the other hand take advantage of every opportunity that you can spot that will help you then to build up a successful career at AMEC.
