Power & Process

Trainee Designers (Darlington)

AMEC's Power & Process Europe business has operated an annual  Designer Programme for the last ten years. Each year we look for candidates who are committed to Engineering to participate in this ECITB Modern Apprenticeship in Design and Drafting in the following disciplines: piping, electrical, civil, and control and instrumentation.

Successful applicants are provided with opportunities to develop their skills and competence on a structured four-year programme with a view to achieving an NVQ Level 3 qualification through the Modern Apprenticeship scheme. The scheme involves ‘on-the-job’ training, as well as academic learning.

Educational entry requirements

Minimum requirement is 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths, English and IT) for all engineering disciplines.

Other entry requirements

Applicants need to demonstrate that they are technically competent in their chosen discipline. This is assessed by an aptitude test. Also important is an ability to communicate well, both written and verbally. We need trainees to be able to work on their own initiative, but also be part of a team.

Location

Trainee positions are normally based in our Darlington office.

THE CURRENT SCHEME IS NOW CLOSED FOR FURTHER APPLICATIONS

We are sorry to disappoint you but please do check this page again next year for any opportunities.
