Groundwater supply

Groundwater supply and management is a major focus of AMEC´s hydrogeological services.

For industrial and municipal development, groundwater can provide a sustainable resource for potable or process requirements due to its constant temperature, its quality, and its natural protection from surface contamination. It can also be used as a cool water source for large air conditioning systems.

Developing reliable water supplies requires an ability to effectively evaluate site specific geological and hydrogeological conditions, and apply suitable well construction technologies. The assessment of drilling technologies and the use of experienced drilling contractors is essential for the completion of high quality production wells. AMEC has a select number of drilling contractors who are consistently and successfully utilized for water well design and construction.

A key feature of AMEC´s service delivery is derived from our knowledge of regulatory requirements. The geological and engineering skills required to develop groundwater supplies for oil and gas, industrial, municipal and domestic projects are similar. However, it is the regulatory framework which can differ. AMEC provides services which are in tune with federal, provincial/state and municipal regulations.
