Construction services for the power sector
Our expertise includes gas-fired, simple and combined cycle and air quality control systems (AQCS) markets. We have strong boiler erection, maintenance and upgrade capabilities as well as extensive experience in infrastructure installations, including mechanical and electrical balance of plant. We also have considerable project delivery expertise in the power transmission sector.
In the US, AMEC is a merit shop industrial contractor with a multidiscipline workforce of approximately 1500 craft workers. We deliver projects in a number of contract forms, including engineer-procure-construct (EPC) and EPCM, general contractor, and prime contractor. We typically self-perform approximately 85 percent of the work, including civil, ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) code welding, foundations and concrete, equipment setting, structural, mechanical and piping, electrical and instrumentation, and start-up and commissioning support.
