	Rationale The rationale behind striving for excellence in health and safety is three-fold: Moral - It is our moral responsibility not to hurt people. Legal - We have legal responsibilities that we take very seriously. Failure can attract severe penalties. Financial - We realise that good health and safety performance is genuinely good business. A safe project is generally a successful project. Most of our clients expect excellent health and safety performance from their partners and are not prepared to work with those that can't achieve it. Conversely, poor health and safety performance is often associated with poor management and poor business performance.
