	Challenges Progress was made in 2004 in reducing overall accident rates. Nevertheless, eight incidents in which nine people tragically lost their lives inevitably dominated thoughts about safety in 2004. We met our targets for at least 10% improvement in LTIFR and improvement in the coverage of OHSAS 18001 compliant HSMS. Although sickness absence increased slightly overall, it reduced in all regions that had reported previously. Although we didn't reach our target for TRCFR we did achieve an improvement. Equally, while we failed to reach our target of zero enforcement actions we did see an improvement in this area.
