Educating our people on what we mean by upholding human rights and what this means in practice will always be a primary challenge. In order to make these issues more tangible we will be looking to integrate human rights into our community and employment principle areas. We feel that this will help our people to more easily identify the issues.
We will continue to challenge each business to monitor human rights issues and adopt challenging targets and objectives where they are material to the business, by integrating them into their AMEC Agenda 21. In particular, we will focus on those businesses operating in areas where human rights protection is weak in domestic law.
