During 2006, AMEC contributed to the Dow Jones sustainability index (DJSI), Business in the community (BiTC) Corporate Responsibility index and environmental index.

Dow Jones Sustainability Index
AMEC was listed as the industry leader for the support services sector in both the Dow Jones World and Pan European sustainability index. This is AMEC's second year as the leader in the support services sector competing with 65 other companies to take the lead role.
The annual review of the DJSI group is based on a thorough assessment of corporate economic, environmental and social performance. Its results help to influence the investment decisions of asset managers in 14 countries who have licensed the DJSI group as a benchmark for a variety of sustainability-driven portfolios - including mutual funds and structured products.
Business in the Community - Corporate Responsibility Index
The index is based on a comprehensive, audited survey of AMEC's management and performance in the community, environment, marketplace and workplace. This year AMEC made a positive performance improvement, up 3.5 per cent to 89.5 per cent which places AMEC in the silver standard category, the score fell just 0.5 per cent from the BitC gold standard.
Business in the Community - Environmental Index
This index concentrates on environmental management and performance throughout the year and it is our seventh year of participation in this index. In 2006 year we achieved a silver standard, with a score of 86.73 per cent, just 3.27 per cent from achieving a gold standard.
Business in the Community - Community Index
This year, Business in the Community launched the Community index, in which AMEC participated. AMEC scored 85.39 per cent which achieved a silver standard.
