AMEC listed in world’s top 10 per cent of companies for sustainability says Dow Jones Sustainability Index

12 September 2007

London, United Kingdom (12 September 2007) - AMEC plc, the international project management and services company, has again underlined its commitment to sustainable development by achieving a listing in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for 2007.

It is the fourth year in succession that AMEC has featured in this prestigious index, which annually surveys and benchmarks the world's 2,500 largest companies. Only the top 10 per cent the best performing organisations, based on their social, environmental and economic performance, are included in the index.

"The DJSI is a valuable indicator of the progress businesses are making in sustainable development and we are delighted to have again been recognised for our efforts," said Samir Brikho, chief executive of AMEC plc. "In addition to helping care for the planet, working in a sustainable way makes good business sense. By respecting our employees, the community and the environment, we benefit our clients by providing innovative solutions, we meet our investors' expectations and we attract good people to work with and for us."
